Open space and recreation offers the many benefits to the community and the environment. With a comprehensive adopted Open Space Recreation Plan in place, the township preserves areas for the community for both recreation and for environmental protection.
In 2014, the Mount Holly township and Planning Board adopted an Open Space and Recreational Plan. The Mt Holly EAC obtained a grant from the DEP in 2015 to develop a Municipal Public Access Plan (MPAP) for the tidal waters of the Rancocas Creek which runs through Mount Holly. This MPAP will be incorporated into the Open Space Plan.
