Department
The Construction Department is responsible for enforcing the regulations of the State Uniform Construction Code, which was established by the State of New Jersey, to insure that new construction (commercial, industrial, and residential) adheres to minimum standards of workmanship and safety. The Inspectors review structural construction, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and electrical work prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy to insure compliance with the State Uniform Construction Code.

Message from the Mount Holly Construction Code office: All pools that can hold water over 2 feet deep require zoning and construction permits. This includes on ground storable swimming pools (Intex brand, etc) These pools may be relatively inexpensive to purchase, but the cost for making the install comply with the codes can be expensive. Please remember codes are created for the safety of our community. We urge residents to remove these pools if you currently have one without a permit or contact the Construction Code office to inquire about obtaining a permit. The Construction Code office will send out notices of violation to property owners that have pools that are required to have permits. These violations could result in monetary penalties in excess of $2000 and/or mandatory municipal court appearance. We appreciate your understanding and thank all of our property owners for your cooperation.
