The Mount Holly Police Department, in partnership with Mount Holly Township, will hold its annual memorial ceremony on Saturday, March 28 at the Mount Holly Municpial Building, to honor the service and sacrifice of Patrolmen Donald Aleshire, William Wurst, and John Holmes.
This year marks the 51st anniversary of the “Good Friday Massacre”, when the three officers responded to a sniper incident on Garden Street in 1975. Patrolmen Aleshire and Wurst were tragically killed, and Patrolman Holmes was critically wounded and later passed away due to complications from his injuries.
The ceremony is open to the public and will held rain or shine – starting at 10 a.m.
